Fleece as it is removed from the alpaca must be picked and skirted before sending it to a show or processing mill.

This clinic gives hands on demonstration and discussion in this often misunderstood task. Learn to identify neck side, tail side, belly fiber, second cuts and more. We will look at the fleece as it might be judged and see what a judge is looking for and go over the showing requirements as published in the Current AOBA Show Rules Book. Learn the difference is preparing your fleece for processing vs showing and why there is a difference.

During this clinic we discuss and demonstrate proper rolling and bagging of your fleece for show. Various fleece storage methods are presented with samples of different bags, boxes and containers. Discussion of tools and types of skirting tables will also be included.

Bring your questions, tips, and techniques to share.
